Which Is The Best BabyBjorn Baby Carrier?

What’s the best BabyBjorn baby carrier? Hands down, it’s the BabyBjorn Harmony. Of all of the BabyBjorn carriers, this is the most supportive, the most comfortable and going to be the best choice of all of the Bjorn range.

Why? Well, it’s got all of the features and functions of the bestselling, super supportive BabyBjorn Carrier One Air. But with more contouring – so it fits better around mum’s bodies – and lots of soft accents, so it’s softer on your baby’s skin.

The Harmony is really great from about 8lbs/3.5k. Mary, who you can see here in my video, is 11 weeks old and fitting into it really nicely:

Realistically, this carrier going to be great up to around about a 12-month-old. Very slim toddlers will fit in it for longer, but it’s going to be a bit of a squeeze because there’s a limited amount of space between the internal hardness and the external part of the body panel, which is where your baby sits. So no, it may not last as long as it says on the box (max 15kg/33lbs)

It has a lovely padded and supportive waistband with a thick lumbar support pad and nicely contoured shoulder straps that hug around your body. It also fits a huge range of parents. I often say that Bjorn carriers suit dads’ bodies better than mums’. The Harmony is the exception as it fits mums and dads really, really well.

One of my favourite things about this carrier is that you can put it on fully before your baby goes in. You put it over your head a bit like a T-shirt and around your waist and the baby gets popped in the top, using both hands.

So if you’re a little bit nervous about using a baby carrier and want something a bit more engineered and pre-done, the BabyBjorn Harmony is a superb option.

From around 4 months, you can have your baby facing outwards in this carrier. It’s going to offer a reasonable level of support, but you may well find that parent-facing is still more comfy.

You can in theory put the Harmony on your back from 6 months+, but most parents are going to find that quite tricky unless you have double-jointed shoulders. And your child won’t see much (anything) aside from your back. So good ol’ parent-facing front carrying is the optimum position for this carrier.

It’s made from mesh-like fabric so it is a little bit more breathable than some of the other  BabyBjorns. But you will still get warm as there’s lots of padding and an internal harness section

So if you’ve got any questions about the Harmony, please do get in touch.
