Carifit+ Carrier Review

The Carifit+ Carrier is an absolute stroke of genius. It’s the only carrier that not only combines incredible comfort and support but also a 12-month subscription to the Carifit fitness and postnatal support programme.

Let’s start with the Carifit+ features, functions and fabric.

It’s a fantastic carrier to use for newborns. Realistically, babies from around 3.5kg are going to fit beautifully, up to around 2 years. Though I do know a couple of 4-year-olds who’ve been carried in one and it is safety tested up to 20kg!

This is a two-position carrier. You can have your baby facing you from newborn up until toddler, or facing outwards in a front-facing position. Like with all carriers that are suitable for front facing, this position is suitable from around 4 months once your baby has full head, neck and upper body control.

The Carifit+ has a fantastically supportive racer-style back panel that distributes your baby’s weight evenly. A lot of carriers have thick padding to absorb the pressure applied by a heavy baby or toddler. But the knitted fabric and contoured shape of the carrier spread your baby or toddler’s weight super evenly around your body, so there aren’t any pressure points. Happy days.

It has a cleverly contoured waistband and a built-in lumbar support pad, which has a handy zip-up compartment. And again, it just smooths round all your contours so nicely. So whether you’re a more petite parent, a broader parent; if you have a flatter body shape or a more curvy one; this is going to feel really, really snug and supportive.

You also get great little clip adjusters at the top of the body panel, providing some extra neck and head support. The base is width-adjustable so always make sure your baby is supported from one knee pick to the other, which is the optimally supportive position for both your back and their developing hips.

Now: the fabric. This is my ABSOLUTE favourite part of the Carifit+. It’s a lot like Nike Flyknit pair of trainers. Ultra-supportive knitted fabric, which moves and expands with you but never feels too stretchy. Bliss. It literally expands and contracts as you move and breathe. So even with heavier babies, you’re just not going to feel the weight in the way that you might with some other carriers.

Now, for more about the Carifit postnatal programme. It’s a superb postnatal program for mums and dads and babies of all ages and stages. Expert physio, fitness, medical, sleep and mental health guidance, plus on-demand workouts to suit all fitness levels and lifestyles (but get ready to sweat!). All in a handy app that you unlock for free with the QR code on your Carifit+ box. Full disclosure – you might notice me pop up once or twice in the babywearing section of the app ????

So it’s a big thumbs up from me for this one. If you have any more questions about the Carifit+ carrier, please do get in touch.
